But always be safe and like the old saying, “measure twice, cut once”. You might even start to look at things around your house which you can create things. Of course you get inspired from other pre-made projects. One of the first things I created on my own was a bird house. Now I could say I am much more comfortable using them although I still revert most things to imperial. You will also sharpen your geometry, trigonometry and perhaps some measurement conversions too. As you go through the details, you'll start to get ideas of your own. You just might surprise yourself after you complete lots of projects. It really helps to hear it from someone else. Will make my wife very happy this Christmas!!! I truly appreciate the efforts of other folks who share their projects as I just do not have the skills it takes to make something like this. Also it pays to insure all is well when you tackle a project that was not designed by yourself. So I've not only learned alot about my machine but it now run so much better. Went through all the settings as well and did make a few changes. Made the adjustments to insure the machine was cutting accurately. Recalculated the tools paths found the Z axis to be out quite a bit.
